Captured at the Bromont International, Quebec. July 2014
Tomorrow starts our new column, Ask Vickie. If have a horse, riding or jumping question, all you have to do is email us at backhomeinbromont@gmail.com . Then every Wednesday, Vickie will post her answers. Why not send us a jumping photo and she can review it just like on our Jump Review feature.
Vickie has decades of experience as a rider. competing in Hunter, Jumper, Eventing and Dressage. She was a Mare Inspector for Eastern Ontario and Quebec, and ran a successful Canadian Sport Horse breeding program for many years. She currently resides in Ocala, Florida and is an independent journalist and videographer.
I often wondered how many years it takes for a rider to become as accomplished as the ones you’re photographing?

Riders? Sorry I only see horses. Seriously, it’s embarrassing. Riders come up to me after they ride and ask if I got any photos. I always reply, “What did your horse look like?”
I just know it took my sister 10 years of jumping to get to National level. Vickie would probably know. “Vickie!…” 😉

Doesn’t want to jump? Or just the right timing of the lift off? 🙂
