This pair is beautifully decked out for the jumper class with both horse and rider well outfitted.
It appears from the photo that the horse left the ground a little early for this fence or was going at speed to make the time and took the rider by surprise. This has caused her to be slightly left behind with her leg swinging forward and her balance a bit behind the center of gravity. To her credit she is maintaining her position off her horse’s back and her soft rein contact by holding mane which is allowing her horse to clear the fence. Kudos to her!
The horse has beautiful, even knees and a lovely crest over this fence although the style is somewhat stretched out and ‘splinter-bellied’ due to the long take-off point and the effort to stretch to get over the fence.
I love the intent expression of both horse and rider and her horse’s very forward focus.
